Well, there is always a first time for everything -- this was a major first for me -- catering a friend's wedding with 220 guests last weekend!!! In hindsight, I'm not sure I really realized how much work this would be - but my hubbie and I totally pulled it off with amazing helpers in the kitchen. Would I do it again? Well... maybe... but not for a few months, I'm exhausted!! :)
A view of us setting up the tent, with the ceremony off in the distance...
Chips & Peach Mango Salsa, Veggies with Roasted Pepper Veggie Dip
Olive Bar, Savory Puff Pastry Bites, Prosciutto & Goat Cheese Dates
Cucumbers with Hummus, Caprese Skewers with Balsamic Glaze, London Broil Sliders
Cheese & Cracker Tray, Shrimp Cocktail, Fresh Fruit
Spinach Artichoke Dip with Pita Chips, Brie Bites in Phyllo
Grey and pink are super trendy right now for girlie nurseries -- through in a dark pink and it makes a great color combo for a cute baby shower cake, complete with monogrammed onesie and a clothesline of baby clothes... cute!
I'm always amazed when I get a cake order that is a theme from when I grew up -- some things really have staying power -- like Tom & Jerry!!! This was a fun "cheese" cake for a little boy who LOVES Tom & Jerry!!
I'll admit, I know almost nothing about cars... except they get me where I want to go. So, I had to do a little research when I was asked to make a 1963 Corvette groom's cake. Now, I may actually be able to answer a Trivial Pursuit question or two on this classic car... I know all about the logo, and what made this body design unique from the year before (the pointed nose), among a few other details!
Here's a pic from the side...
And the back, where you can really see the logos and body shape.
