Currituck Lighthouse {Lighthouse Cake}

The Outer Banks of North Carolina are beautiful! Currituck Beach is no exception - it even boasts this lovely lighthouse.

Well, "Granny" was fortunate to grow up in Currituck Beach, and she turns 90 this weekend!! Her family is celebrating her with a cake commemorating the place where she grew up. Happy Birthday, Granny! 90 is definitely something to celebrate!!

Here Kitty Kitty {Hello Kitty Flower Cake}

Hello Kitty has been around for ages (my own kindergarten book bag was hello kitty!). She's timeless, and ever so cute! Oh, and in this case, she's also edible!! Hand molded out of fondant and chocolate... Cute and delicious! I'm sure Megan will love it!!

Twin Shower {Stacked Cake with Swirls, Dots, and Bow}

This is a great cake design - simply change the color scheme and it can work for just about any celebration! In this case, it will help celebrate the upcoming arrival of twins! A boy and a girl!

Garbage Day {Carved 3D Garbage Truck}

When my girls were toddlers my friends with little boys would always tell me garbage day was the best day of the week... their little boys would sit at the front door and wait and wait and wait for the garbage trucks to go by... easy entertainment!! So, I can't say I was surprised to get an order for a garbage truck for Rhett's 2nd birthday. I love how this garbage truck turned out... the indent carved out of the back of the truck (where the trash is compacted) with some stray trash hanging out, and the metallic garbage can... oh, so cute! (Probably the only time garbage can be called cute... and delicious for that matter!) Hope little Rhett enjoys his garbage truck!

Modern Patterns {Repeating Flower Pattern in Yellow, Green, and Tangerine}

The design for the larger cake came about from a photo I'd seen online... the inspiration cake was one tier, in pink, with a more traditional gumpaste rose... same repeating pattern. We changed the colors, made the rose more modern, added a tier... and a matching smash cake! If you're curious... ('cause I was)... there are 225 mini green football shapes around this cake. Hand cut, and hand placed... yup, that took awhile!

This particular cake was ordered for a family celebrating multiple spring birthdays - a great design for that... it could also be fun for a baby or wedding shower or a very unique wedding cake (imagine this stacked a few layers tall)!

Stripes {Two Tier Striped Cake}

I adore everything about this design. The tiers, the square shape, the stripes, the colors, the white dot borders, the name and age plates... it all came together perfectly!!
And a view of the back... equally lovely!!

Batman {Yellow Cake with Batman Logo}

Can you guess the theme of this birthday??? Hmmmm....

Gentlemen, Start Your Engines {3D Racecar Cake}

Being in the heart of Nascar country, you'd think I'd get more requests for racing cakes... I've done a few racetracks, but never a 3D car - this was fun!! Orange and yellow flames - favorites of the birthday boy!!And to give you some perspective on size, here are my sweeties, posing with the cake! They LOVE seeing the finished products...
