Gender reveal cakes are all the rage these days, but I have to say, this design idea was a first for me. And I LOVE it!! So, when the Allen's cut into this cake tomorrow, they'll either find blue or pink filling between a yummie almond cake. So fun!! Congrats, Allens, so happy for you guys!
And to go with the super fun cake, some extra cute bee cake pops... wouldn't you rather a swarm of these around you instead of the real thing?!!? YUM!!
I've said it before and I'll say it again... moms in Charlotte are so clever!!! Abby is one of my favorite clients, and she's one of the clever ones!! Her little girl turns one this weekend, and her celebration will be a "One"derland tea party theme. Yup, clever!! So we came up with this topsy turvy design, complete with teapot, playing cards (hearts, of course), the white rabbit, and his pocket watch. This is definitely one of my new favorite designs!! Happy Birthday, Briella!!
And a close up of the cute white rabbit...

We're halfway through 2012 and I've completed 53 orders serving over 1700 pieces of cake!! Phew... no wonder I've felt busy!! That's a lot of cake from one kitchen!! That being said, I'm treating myself to a little summer vacation - I'm taking off almost the entire month of July! For those of you who follow my blog, there will be a little drought for a few weeks... but I'll pick back up in August!!

The Barnabas Center, located here in Charlotte, was celebrating a big birthday this weekend, 23 years!! To go along with a celebration concert, they commissioned a cupcake buffet (feeding approximately 200 guests)...
...with a delicious menu: Chocolate Peanut Buttercup, Vanilla Chocolate Chip, Toasted Almond,
Triple Chocolate, and Lemon Poppyseed. No clean plate needed for each visit to this buffet, just grab a napkin and pick your favorite!!! Which one would yours be?? (I heard after the event that the first to go were the chocolate peanut buttercup ones.... yummm!!!)
