All right gentlemen - you know you've found a good bride when she orders you a poker theme for your groomscake!! The extra fun part of this cake is it's a real game to play out - the bride and groom each picked a hand - then someone finished the flop to see who won. The winning card is appropriately, the Ace of Hearts!
Just when I thought I was getting tired of making little figurines - I got to make these cute little guys this week. Anna and Ken are getting married this weekend, and Anna ordered this cute mountain climbing cake for Ken's groomscake. (Look close, he's climbing up the mountain with a flower in his hand for her - cute cute!)
Sometimes revisiting the old school version of a cupcake is the best thing ever... who can complain about sprinkles and frosting anyway?? (I did do a little twist though, and layered these sweet babies, so there is frosting for every single little bite! YUMMM!!)
I'm starting to realize that I need to take a class in photography - it's getting harder to capture the cuteness on film! This order was for 50 cupcakes and 2 smash cakes for a joint birthday party for 3 year olds Lucy Grace and Gavin. Couldn't get all the cupcakes in a pic, but ohhh it was cute to see them all sitting on the counter! (You have to look closely to see the cute little monkey noses and mouths.)
I am in LOVE with this cake - yes, I confess the squealing you might have heard coming from my kitchen was not from my 3 year old - I ADORE these little farm animal cupcakes (I kept peeking after I finished, I couldn't help myself). The picture just doesn't even do them justice. I think the little piggy snouts are my favorite. Soooo cute!! Little Eloise loves the song Old MacDonald, so for her 1st birthday, she gets the whole barn all to herself to enjoy (aka. destroy).
And here's a closeup of the cuties -- oh my -- really too cute to eat!!
Jackson and Alex are high school best buddies, graduating this year, and heading off to opposite coasts for college in the fall. One to play baseball the other to row... my favorite thing about this cake, other than that it celebrates their great friendship, is the baseball hat and the tiny little baseball (if you look closely, you can see I painted on the red stitching... love it!!!)
I have a passion for fun cakes... I also have a passion for spending lots of time with my family! Amazingly, I've stumbled upon a way to enjoy both by making custom cakes for my friends (and their friends) out of my very own home here in Charlotte!! If you've found my site by referral and are ready to talk about your design, shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you've found me from a web search engine, thanks for checking out my designs! Unfortunately, since I'm just one girl with one kitchen, I can't take any web referrals... but feel free to keep looking!
